I really enjoyed this eye opener, I read it quickly because it was so fascinating. If you only know about Psychopathy as an illness that causes a person to act in the extreme to achieve his or her aims, then this book will make you think again about how many of us exhibit minor personality traits of the Psychopath – some much more than others.
Kevin Dutton has written an extremely fascinating account of the Psychopath in our society and how we should understand that not all Psychopaths are killers. The lucky ones found a career in corporate business or military roles where their need to express themselves like a maniac bent on achieving his objectives is permitted.
From self-analysis to visits to the top security wing of Broadmoor Hospital in England, Kevin Dutton gives us prime examples of Pschopathy and Psychopaths in society and then explains in layman’s terms the workings of a Psychopath’s mind.
He finally brings us to the ponderings about whether Psychopathy is actually a useful personality trait to have in our Modern Society. A really engrossing read and written with the average reader in mind. A fascinating and must have book for those interested in the subject of Psychology and the aberrations of the mind. The Wisdom of Psychopaths
