Charles Cumming has been solidly marking his territory as the New Thriller Writer of today. His novels deliver the goods and make for great reading. The sort of stories that pull you in quickly so that you can’t put the book down until you’ve finished the whole book.
The Trinity Six takes you into the world of espionage and the remnants of the Cold War. The five Cambridge spies who were revealed to be working for the Russians during the Cold War period are names that are familiar but there was a six man whose identity remains a mystery to this day. Charles Cumming’s Character Sam Gaddis is presented with a folder which could lead to a lucrative book deal – if he writes it. When he begins to investigate he discovers that he has kicked a hornets nest and his life is at risk when SIS get wind of his activities.
A good read that accelerates quickly into a page turner that you must read. Thrilling,exciting and unput-downable stuff.
Christopher Hitchens “Love,Poverty and War; Journeys and Essays” will just about irritate anyone about anything. Yet, he does it so well that his intelligent,witty and pointed attacks on certain members of society are interesting reading that one has to admire his intellect as it bears down on his subjects.
